“As Your Majesty was lying there, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen. Can we see the future in dreams? There are people who dreamed of something and it happened. I know of quite a few women who somehow knew the sexes of their children long before they were born. We all have had déjà vu moments. And more than once I’ve seemed to know ahead of time what would happen in some very random situations that actually came true (even without dreaming of them)
Credit God, not me, or déjà vu, or even the expectant mothers. Whatever revelations we have, we get them from God.
Our so-called modern world downplays these types of things. After all, random chance and its opposite, orchestrated results, seem to account for many actions in our lives. But more and more, I see those aren’t what makes things happen. I’ve come to see there are no coincidences, no real random chances, no acts of fate. In so many ways more than what we can count, God is at work in our lives. Near the end of the Civil War, when asked what he thought it all meant, Abraham Lincoln is rumored to have said “the Almighty was at work in the land.”
How is the Almighty at work in the ‘land’ of your life right now?
Today is a fresh, new day. It has never occurred before; it has never been lived before. What will you do with it? Everything you believe, everything you’ve done or know, everything up until now is at your disposal to think, say, do, and use in living out today. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed; it may not even happen. And while what you know, do, or are today may (or may not be) everything you’ve ever wished for, it is who you are today. Your life is your set of tools for today.
As you work today, God will also be at work in the land of your life. God has revealed everything we know to get to today. We’ll use that uniquely. There’s only one of every one of us, and we are His very good creation, made for love and to help Him in His work here.
